Step 1
Get Your Free Solar Assessment
Tell us about your home and power bill. We will run an initial assessment and give you estimated production, savings, and system size. No pressure, no commitment.
Nova Scotia power rates keep climbing, and every month that bill hits a little harder. You can't control what they charge, but you can stop paying it.
We install solar systems that replace your power bill with a fixed monthly payment that ends after your financing term. You keep the power. You keep the savings.

When we design your system, we account for Nova Scotia's climate. We use satellite data to factor in snow cover, shorter winter days, and average cloud cover by month.
You don't need to climb up and scrape your panels. We don't want you doing that, it's dangerous and unnecessary. Your system is designed to perform across a full Nova Scotia year, snow and all.
See How Solar Works in Nova Scotia
Your Nova Scotia power bill has doubled over the last 25 years. If rates keep rising at the same pace, it'll double again. With solar, your monthly payment stays the same and eventually ends. You're replacing a bill that never ends with one that does.
Studies from Zillow and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory show an average increase of 4%, and in Nova Scotia we've seen it run higher. It also helps houses sell faster because buyers have one less bill to worry about. We'll help you estimate as part of our process.
Stop waiting to see what the next rate hike will be. You generate your own electricity. What you don't use goes back to the grid as a credit. That's power on your terms.
Every product we install carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty, and we back our workmanship for 25 years.
Your monthly solar payment will be similar to your current power bill. Your solar payment is a fixed monthly cost and ends after your financing term, while your power bill keeps going up.
Some of our customers pay less per month for solar than they were paying for power. We'll show you where your numbers land during your assessment.
Nova Scotia Power's EcoShift program offers significant incentives for battery storage systems. Homeowners who install batteries can earn payments for allowing their stored energy to support the grid. Current incentives in 2026 are $500 for enrolling your home battery storage device and $300 per kW.
There are currently no provincial rebates for residential solar panel installations in Nova Scotia.
We will confirm what incentives you can get during your consultation.
Talk to a Local Solar Expert
From your first call to system activation, we make the process straightforward and fully managed.
Step 1
Tell us about your home and power bill. We will run an initial assessment and give you estimated production, savings, and system size. No pressure, no commitment.
Step 2
We use satellite data to create a custom solar system design. This includes engineering documents and a confirmed proposal. The numbers from your initial assessment carry through to the final proposal. If anything shifts after the site visit, you'll know exactly what changed before you commit.
Step 3
We come to your property and get up on the roof. Our team inspects your roof condition, checks the orientation and shading, and confirms everything we need to finalize your system design.
Step 4
We take the hassle out of financing. Once the system is confirmed, we'll help you apply for financing. We walk you through the application, confirm your approval, and make sure your financing terms are secured before work starts. During winter months, we start financing earlier so your project stays on track for a spring install.
Step 5
First, our crew builds the racking and installs all wiring, inverters, and electronics underneath where the panels will go. An inspector checks this work before the panels cover it. Then we install the panels and complete the electrical connections. Your system goes through a second inspection. We treat your property like our own and will leave it clean.
Step 6
After final inspection, we energize your system and send you login details for your monitoring platform. You can see exactly how much power you're generating from day one. Now you just watch the savings add up.
“We had a ~12KW system installed on our house roof and garage roof. James and his crew are delightful people and worked with us to meet our needs. They did high quality work, on schedule, and cleaned up after themselves.”
“I was a bit apprehensive as I had a less than great experience with a different solar company. I received the initial quote very promptly and I of course had questions which were answered fully. We set up the visit and I was put at ease when I spoke with James. Everything was fully explained and all of my questions were answered. He was very helpful with helping me go through the process of the loan process.”
“When we decided to put solar panels on our home, we had a lot of questions. Both Keith and James took the time to thoroughly and patiently explain every question we put to them. They helped me navigate my way through the government loan and inspection process. The team that actually installed the brackets and panels were very informative as well. Everything was done promptly and we didn't have to wait forever for each process to be completed. I highly recommend this company, JC Power Solutions for all your needs regarding solar panels. A great bunch of guys!”
We handle everything from initial design to final inspection, all with our own in-house crew. We don't subcontract your project out. Your job is to plug in, ours is everything else.
Your system is designed to maximize production for your specific roof. We run production simulations that account for your roof's orientation, shading, and Nova Scotia's full climate cycle, including snow. Your design is backed by professional engineering documents..
We install products that carry 25-year manufacturer warranties. We evaluate every product we install for warranty, reliability, performance in cold climates, and real cost over 25 years. We carefully select the best products that provide the most value to you.
We inspect your roof during the site visit. Our team works on roofs daily. We make sure we understand your roof before mounting panels to it. We can install on virtually any roof type, including metal roofs, using the appropriate mounting system for each surface.
We'll tell you upfront if your roof needs work before we start. Our partner roofing company handles it, and we coordinate the timing so it's seamless.
As Red Seal electricians, we handle all electrical work in-house. If your home's electrical panel needs an upgrade, a service change, or additional capacity to support your solar system, we take care of it as part of the project.
You don't have to deal with the municipality or coordinate inspector schedules. We handle all the permitting. Every installation goes through two inspections: a rough-in inspection (checking all wiring and electronics under the array before panels are installed) and a final inspection after the panels are up and the system is complete.
Once your system is energized, you receive monitoring access so you can track your solar production in real time. Our 25-year workmanship warranty means we're here for the long haul, fully covered for the first three years, and at-cost service after that.
We install Emporia EV chargers that can automatically charge your vehicle when power rates are lowest. You just plug in and walk away. We can help you understand Time-of-Day rate plans with your power company.
We install Emporia energy monitors that give you full visibility into your home's energy consumption alongside your solar production.
For homeowners who want backup power without the cost of a full battery system, we install generator panels and connections. This lets you connect a portable or stationary generator to your home's electrical system for use during outages. Options include gen-link meter connections and remote generator outlet installations.
We install grid-tied battery systems for homeowners who want battery backup with the security of staying connected to the grid. With Nova Scotia Power's EcoShift program, battery systems are becoming significantly more financially attractive.
We're based in Dartmouth, and our crew is from here. We know Nova Scotia roofs, Nova Scotia weather, and Nova Scotia power bills.
We serve homeowners across a wide area of Nova Scotia. Our primary service area covers communities within about an hour and a half of Halifax, including:
Halifax Regional Municipality, the Annapolis Valley, Truro, New Glasgow, Antigonish, Sheet Harbour, Bridgewater, and Liverpool.
We've helped over 300 families across the province. If you're outside our typical service range, get in touch anyway, we'll let you know if we can help.
Take Control of My Energy CostsClick on a question to find out more.
The cost depends on your home, your roof, and how much energy you use. Most of our customers find that their monthly solar payment is similar to their current power bill. But unlike your power bill, it's a fixed monthly cost that eventually ends. We provide a detailed quote after assessing your property so you know exactly what you're getting.
It's the most common question we get, and the answer is yes. When we design your system, we run a simulation that includes Nova Scotia's snow, cloud cover, and seasonal patterns. Snow is already accounted for in your production estimate. You don't need to scrape snow off your panels — it's unnecessary and we strongly advise against it for safety reasons.
We inspect your roof during the site visit. Our team works on roofs every day, and we know what to look for. If your roof needs work before we can install panels, we work with a partnered roofing company to get it taken care of. We'll tell you straight.
Yes. We install on all roof types including metal. We use different mounting systems for different surfaces like flat roofs, standing seam metal, corrugated metal, shingle.
There are currently no provincial rebates for residential solar in Nova Scotia. However, the EcoShift battery program through Nova Scotia Power offers significant incentives for battery storage. We stay current on available programs and verify what you qualify for during your consultation.
Our products carry 25-year manufacturer warranties. We also offer a 25-year workmanship warranty. The first three years are fully covered, and after that any service work is billed at our cost, not retail rates. If something takes 30 minutes to fix, you pay for 30 minutes. That means a typical service visit costs a fraction of what most companies charge. We're local, and we're not going anywhere.
Yes. We handle all permitting and coordinate both inspections, the rough-in inspection and the final inspection. You don't have to manage any of that.
Usually just 2 - 3 days for installation. The entire process usually takes 2 - 6 weeks from start to finish. In some cases permit approvals can take up to two months, we'll manage that for to keep it going as quickly as possible.
No. All of our work is done by our own in-house crews. We don't subcontract your project to another company.
Yes. We install EV chargers, energy monitors, and grid-tied battery systems. These can be added during your initial installation or as a separate project later. We will let you know any upgrades you may need to your electrical system.
Your solar system stays with the home and adds to its resale value. If you're still in your financing term, the remaining balance can typically be included in the sale or paid off at closing.
Grid-tied solar systems have to shut down during outages to protect utility workers. If uninterrupted power is important to you, we can install generators or battery backup systems that keep you running during an outage.
